Remediation Project

After repurposing an original source, my Writing 220 class was required to remediate the source into a completely different form. I chose to make a podcast featuring interviews with some of my professors and mentors from the music school. The interviewees in this podcast are Amy Petrongelli, Dr. Matthew Thompson, and Professor Carmern Pelton.

My repurposing piece focused a lot on the importance of coming into your own as an artist. My remediation piece has a similar focus, but it uses more anecdotal evidence to make the point. The podcast is less thesis-based than the repurposing article. The majority of the content and the themes come from the interviews, all of which follow their own natural arc. I felt that this format would be best because it seems students take heart when they hear that their professors and role models struggled like them at some point in their career.
