Emily Cotten
ABOUT
Emily Cotten is a student at the University of Michigan. She is pursuing a Bachelor's of Music and a minor in writing through the Sweetland Writing Center. Emily is passionate about the communication of ideas through arts and academics. Her written work often features a variety of issues framed in a musical lens.
Emily was born in Boston, Massachusetts and was raised in Durham, North Carolina. After she began her first year of college in the midwest, Emily developed an interest in the different types of art that come from different regions of the country. The examination of this phenomenon is also present in Emily's work.
When she is not singing or writing, Emily enjoys reading, running, and travelling. She currently lives with seven of her best friends in a green house.
